Hey Pete,
The weathering on the bridge was done after assembly but, before the rivet plates are installed. The first step is to choose a base color. Flat black or roof brown work well for the first coat. It is important that you get good coverage when spraying the bridge. The spray paint will seal the edges of material so it is not impregnated by the wash.Once the bridge has a base coat of paint install the rivet plates. Next I mist the bridge with rail brown, followed by dark tan. The last step is to apply a rust wash which I have available if you would like some. This is done with a 3/4" blending brush. The wash is applied heavy so it runs on the bridge surfaces. When the wash dries it leaves the rusty effect you see in the pictures.
Have you started the kit?

I am glad that you like the bridges. The 147' two track steel truss will be the first available. I hope to have it packaged and ready for sale next week. The 108'will follow.

The canyon bridge is available by request only due to the time involved with cutting it. I would like to build another in order to take photos for a set of instructions. I have some photos to offer with a written illustrated set of directions that should be sufficient for experienced builders.

Thanks
